History
The Axelsson brothers were farm boys who dreamed of becoming entrepreneurs. They succeeded and Troax is now a world-leading manufacturer of mesh panels for protecting equipment and property.
The company was founded in 1955 in a shed at their farm in Tyngel. This is where the brothers worked from early in the morning until late at night making anything and everything from iron and metal for their prospective customers.
Storage partitions took off
After ten years, shopping trolleys and mesh partitions for cellars and attic storage spaces were the biggest sellers. Turnover increased constantly because the brothers had a good instinct for development, manufacturing and sales. "The cellar storage was always the last area to be completed on a construction project, but our mesh partitions were ordered before construction had begun.
Early automation
As time went on, mesh panels were also developed for warehouse fittings and machine safety. The production and warehousing facilities were expanded time and again. Troax was one of the first private companies in Sweden to invest in industrial robots and automated production. Today, the world's most up-to-date mesh panel production facilities are still housed in a rural location on the brothers' farm in Hillerstorp, Sweden.
From local to global
In the beginning of the 1970’s, Troax began its international expansion by starting sales companies in Norway and Denmark. The expansion continued during the 1980’s and in this period Troax also started sales companies outside Scandinavia. Production was commenced in China during 2013 and in 2014 the Italian company Satech was acquired. Since Troax was founded the company has developed its product portfolio in order to adapt itself to customer needs. In 1965 products were developed for the property protection market segment and in 1978 a garage storage solution was introduced. In 1976, Troax became the first mesh welder using steel wire and square tubes facilitating in focus on products for the machine guarding market.
Today, Troax is an international enterprise with global operations. We are represented in 31 countries, with our own sales companies in 20 of these and production in Sweden, England, Italy, China and USA.
2015 - Troax 60 years!
Troax celebrated 60 years of operation with a position as the world-leading manufacturer of partitioning, mesh and steel based panel systems for industrial applications, warehouses and storage areas.
Listed on the Stock Exchange
Sixty years later, since the beginning in 1955, we're listed on Nasdaq Stockholm and employ 400 people in 31 countries with a local presence in all markets where we do business. Our products are found at both commercial and residential sites all over the world, where they fill an important function by protecting people, property and processes.
Still growing and expanding
Troax has the world’s largest and most efficient plant for the manufacture of mesh panels for industrial applications, warehouses and storage areas. Something the brothers could hardly have foreseen 60 years ago. Nonetheless it was their belief in the future that made it all possible.
We're grateful for their insight that major companies must be built on belief in the future. And we're still growing and expanding.
